HND in General Agriculture

Programme Overview

The HND in General Agriculture is a three-year programme designed to equip students with the practical skills, technical knowledge, and entrepreneurial mindset required for success in modern agriculture.

Students gain hands-on experience in crop and livestock production, farm management, agribusiness, and agricultural technologies through classroom instruction, fieldwork, and practical training.

The programme prepares graduates for employment opportunities across the agricultural value chain as well as self-employment through agribusiness ventures.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must possess the following:

Academic Passes Six (6) credit passes, A–D or A1–D7.
Core Subjects Credits in English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science or Social Studies.
Elective Subjects Three (3) relevant elective subjects.

Mature Applicants

Applicants aged 25 years and above may be considered under the mature students category.

Proof of Age Applicants must provide acceptable proof of age.
Work Experience Applicants must have at least two (2) years of relevant work experience.
Entrance Assessment Applicants must perform successfully in any required entrance assessment.

Practical Training

Students participate in practical farm activities, field demonstrations, industrial attachments, and agribusiness projects to ensure they graduate with industry-ready skills.
